Shopkeepers of woollen apparel are feeling the cold
There is a chill in the air. And it is being felt most acutely by shopkeepers of woollen apparel. Despite the record-breaking cold across the country, demand has been slow for sweaters and other winter wear. Winter this year has been late in many places, so perhaps sales may pick up. Prices have risen due to an increase in the cost of yarn.
Meanwhile Mumbaikars going on skiing holidays no longer need to travel to Delhi to pick up snow-proof woollens. We were surprised to find some formidable-looking jackets tucked away in a small shop in the suburbs. If winter won’t come to Mumbai, Mumbai will go to winter!
