Extensive travelling is an integral part of my profile at Panasonic, and I do get to travel across the length and breadth of the world. I travel to London once a year on work.

The wide and contrasting variety of modern and traditional architecture that you see in the city is extraordinary and spellbinding. These buildings are a testimony to the truly cosmopolitan culture of London, and the change that the city has seen.

Getting Around
The quickest and easiest way to travel is the Underground, as it is faster, cheaper and better than all the other modes of transport in the city.

Recommendations
The Ritz is my favourite hotel. I like it because of its location and the quality of service. Also, their tea is something I enjoy the most. There is the Four Seasons, a beautiful hotel with an exquisite green landscape that surrounds the Mayfair area. I highly recommend this hotel because of the rooms and the impeccable quality of its service.

If you need to schedule meetings, the business centre of a hotel (preferably at the one where you are staying, as it saves time and energy) is an ideal place. These centres ensure seamless meeting and conference services, and the highest levels of creativity, convenience and efficiency for every business need and event.

For dining I would recommend The Rivoli Bar at The Ritz and Restaurant Gordon Ramsay. While the former is a wonderfully ornate place that offers exceptional service and fabulous cocktails, the latter has an extensive wine list. The food at Restaurant Gordon Ramsay has to be experienced to be believed.

I also enjoy the Sweet and Sour Duke of Berkshire Pork at Hakkasan in Soho.

After Hours
My day off is ideally spent playing a round of golf, and resting at the poolside with a few beers. A relaxing spa is also a great place to recharge yourself and de-stress.

For me, the best way to enjoy a nice evening is by going out for a musical, or an orchestra’s performance or a live concert. When it comes to shopping, Oxford Street in London is paradise.

What strikes me the most about London is its ability to absorb and adapt. The ad hoc environment and blend of various cultures is its most unique feature. However, London weather can be quite unpredictable, and it is best to plan your trip during summer, especially in June.

London is a fast-paced city. While planning your trip, take it slow and be realistic about your schedule; everything takes longer than expected, and the city is not enjoyable if you’re rushing around.
