Inderpreet S. Wadhwa, CEO, Azure Power, enjoys Spanish food in the US capital
I visit Washington D.C. at least once every quarter on business, for investor and government meetings. The most prominent landmark of the city is the Washington Monument which is an obelisk built in the 19th century in honour of the first US President, George Washington.
Recommendations
My top choice hotel is the Hyatt; it is centrally located, and close to my meeting locations. It is also within walking distance of China Town and several other eating joints.
The Willard Intercontinental on Pennsylvania Avenue is also a good option. It is two blocks away from the underground Metro Center, the hub station, which makes getting around the city very easy.
For your business meetings, there are multiple restaurants and coffee shops at China Town. The lobby at the Hyatt is also very suitable for a meeting.
For food, my personal favourite is the Spanish Tapas restaurant and bar, La Tasca, on 7th Street. Very good food and live music in the evenings make it a fun, relaxing place.
Tips
The Metro is the best mode of transport, as it connects to all the main locations through the city.
If you have some free time, visit the museums at the National Mall, a large national park area downtown.
