Lunar Art

The Moon Dust DNA Gold Mood Black from Romain Jerome is sheer art. This is because the watchmakers have adopted a revolutionary procedure from the world of art. It uses a mineral coating comprising authentic Moon Dust combined with natural pigments, and has an organic face. Adding to Romain Jerome’s obsession with space (it’s their third galactic-themed watch in as many months) there’s a carbon-fibre bezel made from parts of the Apollo XI spacecraft, the crown is designed as space tools and the hands are inspired by solar panels from satellites.

Well Phased

It seems to be a month of lunacy in the world of watches with Raymond Weil’s Maestro Moon Phase also drawing inspiration from the moon. With a round 39.5 mm case and a moon phase indicator at 10:30, there’s a date counter harmoniously positioned at 6 o’clock as well. In addition to this, there’s a power reserve of 38 hours which incidentally is a longer period of time than one rotation of the Earth on its own axis.
