Windows Phone 7, Designed Home Furniture and Treadmill

Just when it seemed like the smartphone operating system battle was going to be just the iPhone versus Android, Microsoft threw its hat into the ring with its new Windows Phone 7 operating system. Already out on phones in Europe and Australia, it will make its USA debut in November, and launch in Asia next year. Here's a quick look at some phones already using the OS.

Joint Venture 
Industrial designer Sandeep Sangaru won the design concept award in Home Furniture at the Red Dot Design Awards 2009 with his Truss Me line. Handcrafted and sustainable, it uses the high tensile strength of bamboo to create a light yet strong structure. The technique involves splitting a solid bamboo pole a little beyond the knots and laminating it with another strip of split bamboo on the internal surface. This serves as a lightweight load-bearing truss for furniture, shelters and modular systems.
