India's largest two-wheeler maker gears up for premium segment ahead of the festive season
In a bid to expand its presence in the premium segment, India’s largest two-wheeler maker Hero MotoCorp launched the next generation Achiever 150 motorcycle in the market.
Priced at Rs 62,800 for the Disc variant and Rs 61,800 for the Drum variant, the New Achiever 150 motorcycle is powered by a BS-IV compliant 150CC torque-on-demand engine. It races from 0-60 km/h in five seconds. The bike has currently been launched in a limited tri-colour edition celebrating 70 million sales for the company.
Pawan Munjal, chairman and managing director, Hero MotoCorp, said: “Premium segment is where we need to do focus much more and the launch of the new Achiever 150 is a move in that direction.” Currently, Hero MotoCorp is a market leader in the 100cc and 125cc segments holding over 65% and 55% market share, while Bajaj Auto and India Yamaha Motor dominate the 150 cc segment.
The launch of the Achiever 150 motorcycle comes at the onset of the festive season. The company claims to have witnessed a 35% retail growth during the Onam month and is optimistic about a pick up in sales of two wheelers over the next few months on hopes of good monsoon.
