The fifth edition of the awards will see the crème-de-la crème of India Inc rubbing shoulders with each other
It is that day of the year again when Forbes India felicitates those who have demonstrated the true power of India’s entrepreneurial spirit, through its flagship event, the Forbes India Leadership Awards (FILA). These achievers are entrepreneurs, business leaders and organisations who have exhibited ‘transformational leadership’, which has helped them brave economic turbulence and attain new heights of success.
Over the last six months, the Forbes India editorial team, along with a jury comprising eminent stalwarts of the Indian corporate sector, and knowledge partner KPMG, assiduously went about preparing a shortlist of nominees whose achievements stood out. The nominees, across nine categories, underwent rigorous scrutiny that included examination of their performance on qualitative and quantitative parameters. As the journey to discover and honour India’s best business leaders and companies progressed this year, sustainability in business operations and the value it has helped create for all stakeholders emerged as a recurring theme.
Tonight, the curtains will go up on a sparkling awards ceremony in Mumbai where the 2015 FILA winners will be honoured in the presence of the crème-de-la crème of India Inc which will raise a toast to their success. Interspersed with the celebrations, will be some food for thought as well.
Some of India’s most renowned business personalities will share their perspective on various subjects concerning Indian business through individual talks, called ‘Five Minute Wisdom’. What can be more intellectually stimulating than an Oxford-style debate that will see two of India Inc’s best speakers face off against each other, arguing for and against a topic that is crucial to the current state of the Indian economy. Also on the cards is an informal fireside chat between two of India’s well-known bankers who will share their candid views on developments shaping the Indian banking system at present.
The event will also witness the unveiling of a special issue of the Forbes India magazine that chronicles the journey and achievements of the award winners and extrapolates lessons in leadership that one can learn from their life stories.
Forbes India’s Twitter handle and Facebook page will relay the interesting highlights of the evening real time for the benefit of the magazine’s followers on social media.
Apart from the awards, the evening will provide India’s corporate bigwigs a chance to catch up on things other than work and socialise before the curtains come down on FILA 2015.
