ICICI Lombard General Insurance’s Sanjay Datta, chief of underwriting, claims and reinsurance at India’s largest private sector non-life insurer, shares his insights into how they created the right products for the market during Covid19. Year 2021 could see the regulatory move of a pandemic risk pool. But the deep learning of this year, Datta says, is to plan for an extreme event and do a cost-benefit analysis of what you are forgoing now to protect for the future.
