As such, there’s no reason why there should be a travel itinerary that suits everyone,” says Radhika Khanijo, Founder of Delhi based Welgrow Travels, an extremely popular travel agency that is so unlike others in the same business, she insists.

Radhika Khanijo, the founder of Welgrow Travels, views travel from a different perspective, unlike most people. Ever since she was young, Radhika would travel with her parents - an annual vacation was always on the cards for them, and was one of the biggest highlights of their life. This changed when she got married. She realised that there was a certain void in her life that could only be filled with travel.
“When I got married and moved in with my in-laws, there was a change in my life, which made me a bit restless. I terribly missed traveling. My father would draw up personalised travel plans for us every year, and I had grown up loving them. I realised that’s exactly what was amiss, and that’s how I found my true calling,” shares a beaming Radhika.
Within a year of being married, Radhika was expecting a baby girl, and yet, she decided to study and receive training in travel. With an infant on her lap, and a small office setup in a basement, Radhika began the journey of Welgrow Travels in 1997 and hasn’t looked back ever since. Initially, she started to help her close relatives and curated itineraries for them, but she knew that she was meant for bigger things.
Elaborating on her vision, Radhika says, “I wanted to curate experiences of a lifetime for my clients. I wanted to plan for each step of their journey, and every moment on the trip, so that they would remember it all through their lives. I didn’t even realise that I had migrated my entire business in crafting travel experiences rather than selling it.”
