Bringing Physical And Digital Worlds Closer

When French couple Amaury Watine, 39, and Stéphanie Bonduelle, 39, grew tired of their Parisian life, they decided to head to India for an adventure and take a chance on a big project. The place fascinated Watine whose father would often travel to the country for work.

Watine, who worked as a creative designer, and Bonduelle, who had a background in finance, pooled their talents to launch Ultraconfidentiel Design—an interiors, architecture and products design firm based in New Delhi in 2008.

Over a decade later, the firm has carved a niche for itself. It specialises in high-end B2B projects—innovative offices, luxury retail, restaurants, hospitality and boutique retail chains. It has branches in Mumbai, Bengaluru and Lille (France), and plans to strengthen its presence in India as well as across the globe. “Our aim is to inspire people by transforming the basic to ultra,” says Pierre-Arnaud Cassin, the firm’s managing director.

A bold attitude and ‘think globally, act locally’ style of design have helped the firm set benchmarks in the field. “Every year, we have been doubling our turnover in the last five years,” says Cassin.

The company has completed over 100 design and build projects for major multinational companies in India such as Hermès, Nomura, Chanel, Nestlé, Accor Group, The Trump Towers, BMW, Dassault Aviation, Rolex, IWC, Ulysse Nardin, Mars Group, Apple, MBDA (Airbus Group), Amazon, Nissan, Khaitan & Co. and Mankind Pharma. The new head offices of Microsoft in Gurugram and Rolex in Mumbai are some of the firm’s ongoing projects.

“The vision and goal are to take the real estate world by storm with an edge on the firm’s bold, innovative, inspiring and mesmerising design ideas,” says Cassin. “Design shall bring the physical and digital worlds closer, creating a more sustainable and user-friendly environment.”

He adds: “All our projects are designed according to the parameters of LEED and WELL Certifications regardless of our client willing to go for the actual certification or not.”
